Radio Fana recorded outdoors in London, UK on August 6, 2018 at 1800 UTC, on the frequency of 6110 kHz using a Tecsun PL-680 radio and a long-wire external antenna. The transmitter is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This non-directional transmission had a power rating of 100 kW. Reception improves markedly around the 30 minute mark in the recording.
Radio Fana broadcasting in Oromo to East Africa. Transmitted with 100 kw from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Lots of music before ending with the Ethiopian National Anthem at 2100 UTC. Received in Sydney, Australia, with an Eton Satellit and a Sangean reel antenna hanging from the window curtain.

Andy recorded this short eight minute clip between 02:55 - 03:00 UTC on December 15, 2013 on 6.110 MHz using an Icom IC-R75 with a 40-foot PAR EF-SWL end-fed wire. Note that Andy used SSB to tune this very weak AM signal.
